Modern data display overhaul
These basic control units were originally built for UCT catalysis
research —
functional, but very limited. We were presented with the challenge of modernizing the
experience
without replacing the underlying hardware, giving operators a clearer, faster way to
monitor the
full system.
We multiplexed 50 individual thermocouple readings — previously only viewable one at a
time on the
Gefran controllers — into a single modern UI displaying temperatures, pressures, MFC
readings, and
heater status simultaneously. What was once a manual, sequential process is now a
real-time heads-up
display that gives operators full system visibility at a glance.
